Spector Bass has teamed up once again with legendary bassist Doug Wimbish to release the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass. This new model joins the Doug Wimbish Euro series for 2026 and will be available worldwide through authorized Spector dealers and online retailers.

This bass is inspired by one of Doug Wimbish’s lesser known personal instruments, his white NS-2 from the late 1980s. Spector aimed to capture the look, feel, and sound of that bass while giving modern players a comfortable, broken in instrument right out of the case.

The Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White features a lightly aged white nitrocellulose finish. It gives the bass the look of a well played vintage instrument without feeling worn out. The body uses maple wings and is paired with Spector’s slim Doug Wimbish neck profile.

The bass has a 34 inch scale length and a narrow 1.5 inch nut width. This makes it fast and comfortable, especially for players who like tight necks and quick movement. The rosewood fingerboard includes mother of pearl crown inlays, staying true to the classic Spector style.

The New Epihphone Mike Dirnt Bass Is Here, and Fans Are Losing It

Back in the early years of Green Day, when the band was still grinding in small clubs and sleeping in vans, Mike Dirnt’s main bass fell apart right before a show. A friend handed him a Gibson Grabber G3, and Mike clicked with it right away. That bass became part of the sound on Green Day albums like Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac, and he still plays it to this day.

Now the story comes full circle. After years of rumors, Epiphone has released a new version made with Mike, based on his old G3. He has been using these new ones on tour for two years, which is why fans and gear nerds have been buzzing about them.

Mike got his first G3 when he was a teen and never let it go. It even survived amps falling on it during shows. That old bass was one of a kind, which made it hard to copy exactly, but they studied everything about it to get close

Mike and his tech, Bill Schneider, worked closely on every part of this bass. They tried different boards, checked old pickups, added the bridge that felt best, and shaped the neck to match the feel of the old one. Mike wanted the bass to be simple to use, strong, and able to cut through loud guitars and drums.

What Makes This Bass Special

The new model is made by Epiphone and Gibson together. It has Gibson pickups, a strong maple body, and a three-piece maple neck with a full 34 inch scale. Joe Dart Drops 3 New Sterling Signature Basses – All Under $500

Alright, bass players, here’s something cool. Joe Dart – one of the funkiest bassists out there – just teamed up again with Sterling by Music Man to drop not one, not two, but three signature basses. And the kicker? They’re all made-to-order, and each one is under $500.

If you remember, Sterling released the Dart I last year. It was Joe’s first collab with them (after doing a few models with Ernie Ball Music Man), and people went nuts. It was only available for a month, cost less than $400, and sold out fast.

Now, they’re bringing it back and adding two brand-new models: the Dart II and Dart III. So now there’s a whole trio, and yeah — it’s basically a much more wallet-friendly version of Joe’s top-tier $2,600+ basses.
Here’s what’s up with each one:

Dart I is the original — simple, clean, with a single ceramic humbucker. Classic Joe Dart vibes.

For Freaky Styley, Flea alternated between his trusted Music Man Stingray and a Fender Precision bass. By the time the band recorded The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, he had moved on to a Spector LV, which offered a new dimension to his funk-infused playing style.

Mother’s Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik

The late ’80s and early ’90s saw Flea experimenting further with tone and feel. On Mother’s Milk, he embraced the Spector NS-2, crafting the powerful, punchy sound that characterized the album. For the groundbreaking Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Flea turned to a blue Wal Mach II bass for most tracks, but swapped to a Music Man Stingray 5 for songs like Funky Monks and The Righteous & The Wicked.

One Hot Minute

During the One Hot Minute era, Flea showcased the Alembic Epic bass, a flame maple-topped instrument with a mahogany body and ebony fingerboard. He mixed things up with a Music Man Stingray on Aeroplane and even used a Sigma acoustic for the stripped-down track Pea.

Californication

By the time Californication rolled around, Flea’s go-to instrument became the Modulus Flea Bass, a bass model named after him. This bass, with its sleek design and custom features, was his primary choice for the album. Notably, he used a Fender Jazz Bass for Easily and a Taylor acoustic bass on Road Trippin’. On tour, his Blue Flake Modulus Flea Bass – complete with a cheeky sticker that read, “A flea still drinks the blood of those who wouldn’t harm a flea” – stole the show.

By the Way

The Modulus Flea Bass remained a staple for the By the Way album. However, Flea’s rare 1961 Shell Pink Fender Jazz Bass made an appearance on a few tracks and in the Can’t Stop music video. Known for its unique aging and iconic D. Boon sticker, these basses become synonymous with Flea and his style during this period.

Stadium Arcadium

For the Stadium Arcadium album, Flea relied exclusively on his 1961 Shell Pink Fender Jazz Bass, which delivered the warmth and clarity that defined the record. During the subsequent tour, he introduced the Sunburst Modulus Flea Bass, further showcasing his love for Modulus instruments.

I’m With You, The Getaway, Unlimited Love

In recent years, Flea has embraced a new chapter in his bass journey with the introduction of his signature Fender Jazz Bass. Designed in collaboration with Fender, this model reflects Flea’s unique playing style and personal preferences, combining vintage-inspired aesthetics with modern functionality.

The Flea Signature Jazz Bass has become his mainstay on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ newer albums, delivering the warm, punchy tones he’s known for while offering the versatility needed for the band’s evolving sound.
