PRESS RELEASE – Orange Amplification extends its range of footswitches with the introduction of the FS1 Mini, the perfect complement to the single-button FS1 and dual-button FS2. The new Orange Amps FS1 Mini is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and answers frequent requests from Orange users to make smaller pedals to give them more room on pedalboards and improve portability.

The FS1 Mini is housed in a sturdy metal casing finished with the company’s timeless design and style and comes with a sheet of Orange’s classic icon stickers allowing users to personalize its use. It has a single orange LED indicator, a single footswitch, and a 1/4” jack on the back to connect the footswitch to an amp with any length of cable. It is perfect for all Orange amplifiers and its standard latching design and TS (mono) jack connection means it is also suitable for many other types of equipment. At just over 200g and measuring 8.7 x 3 x 3.7cm the best things really do come in small packages and as an official Orange accessory, it complements any Orange amp.

Ideal for allowing users to toggle the amplifier’s functions at the tap of a switch the FS1 Mini can be used to Switch Channels on all Orange twin channel valve amplifiers including the Crush 20, Crush 20RT, Crush 35, and Crush Pro amps. It can be used for Reverb on the Rockerverb and Crush Pro Amps and for Attenuator with the Rockerverb and Dual Dark series. Alternatively, it can be used as a Master Volume Lift for the OR50, EQ Lift with the Custom Shop 50 plus Global, and Gain Boost for the OR100. Other uses include Blend for the OB1 Series, Compression using the 4 Stroke Series and so much more.

The Orange icon stickers supplied features twelve graphics of the most popular foot-switchable channels options (Mute, Clean Channel, Dirty/Fat Channel, Reverb, EQ Lift, Attenuator, Depth, Speed, Volume, Compression, Blend, Gain) with an additional three blank stickers for users to customize. Orange has famously used these graphics on their amps since the early 70s when founder Cliff Cooper was inspired by seeing new road signs.

Orange Amplification is delighted to introduce the Little Bass Thing. A straightforward, lightweight bass amp, designed with the modern bass player in mind. The amp is 500W’s of Class D muscle, combined with a powerful, solid-state pre-amp, packed snugly into a diminutive 3KG package. This tiny toolbox amplifier delivers maximum tone with minimum fuss.

The Little Bass Thing features a sweep-able parametric mid control for simple and effective EQ. This is augmented by carefully chosen bass and treble frequencies combined with 15dB of boost to ensure the ultimate bass sound can be dialed in accurately and quickly. With this powerhouse of an amp, bass players can easily add the finishing touches to their sound with simple, engineered precision characteristic of all Orange Amps.

The amp’s built-in Class A Optical Compression circuit can be controlled by a footswitch (sold separately) or from the front panel. This single-dial has a unique sidechain and a response that has been optimized for a bass guitar. It gives the Little Bass Thing excellent dynamic control and a warm, classic feel at subtle or extreme settings. The Class A Optical Compression circuit is a neutrally voiced pre-amp with precise EQ.

The Little Bass Thing also features a buffered FX Loop and studio-quality, balanced D.I. output with a Ground Lift switch to help remove any ground loop issues. There is also a 6dB input pad switch for active basses and hot pickups.

Orange Bass Butler Bi-Amp Preamp Pedal

Earlier this year, Orange unleashed the Bass Butler, an entire Bi-Amp bass rig in a pedal. The new pedal splits the bass guitar signal, at the input, into completely separate, parallel, analog signal chains, just like a real bi-amp rig – without an amp in sight.

The always active ‘Clean’ Bass Channel can be adjusted for compression, bass, treble, and volume. An optical compressor circuit, cut/boost tone controls, and dedicated, bass cabinet-simulated balanced D.I. output is always on hand with all manner of classic clean tones.

About the pedal

Five smaller knobs control the Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, and Gain (with four stages), of the Bass Butler’s ‘Dirty’ Guitar Channel which can be added with a footswitch. Coupled with a guitar cab-simulated balanced D.I. output and an expression pedal jack for extra control over the input gain, the Bass Butler serves up everything from bright vintage tones to floor-splitting, wall-crumbling modern destruction.

Both channels have XLR balanced output allowing the Bi-Amp bass tone to arrive complete at the mixing desk. The Bass Butler also features an Amp output, which takes a blend of the two channels, set by the volume controls, before the cabinet simulation circuits from a 1/4” jack, making it perfect for connecting to the front end of any bass amp. This set up means on-stage sound can be controlled completely independently of what the audience hears or the output can be used on its own, just like a plain old preamp pedal. A ‘Ground Lift’ switch eliminates ground hum when the Bass Butler is hooked up to a PA and a bass amp at the same time.
