The Wooten Brothers Announce 2025 Tour

Let’s talk about the Wooten Brothers – if you don’t know about them already, you’re seriously missing out. These guys have been blowing minds for over five decades, and they’re easily one of the most talented family bands to ever hit the stage. We’re talking about a musical powerhouse here: Regi on guitar and vocals, Roy on drums and vocals, Joseph on keys and vocals, and, of course, Victor holding it down on bass and vocals. Their brother Rudy, who was basically a one-man horn section, sadly, passed away in 2010, but his influence is still very much alive in their music.

Fast forward to now, and the Wootens are still going strong. Starting in April 2025, they’re hitting the road and also dropping new music – some fresh recordings and some unreleased gems from way back in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Expect a perfect blend of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and whatever else they feel like throwing in. They’ll even feature Rudy’s incredible sax playing, showing just how shockingly talented these guys were even as kids. No wonder legends like Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations, WAR, and Ramsey Lewis had them opening their shows. Fun fact: in 1972, they landed the opening slot for Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly tour when Regi was just 14 and Victor was five. Yeah, FIVE years old and already playing on major stages.

Speaking of Victor – he’s won five Grammys, been on the cover of Bass Player magazine five times, and is constantly ranked among the greatest bassists of all time (right up there with Jaco Pastorius). Rolling Stone even put him in their Top 10 Bassists of All Time list. And beyond just playing, he’s an author, a music educator, and even a nature enthusiast. Since 2000, he’s been running music and nature camps out at Wooten Woods near Nashville, blending musicianship with outdoor experiences in a way only he could.

Bottom line? The Wooten Brothers are legends. Whether you’re catching them live, diving into their new (or old) music, or just revisiting Victor’s ridiculous bass work, you need them in your playlist.
