Have you ever wondered why the cinematographer chose to utilize so many wide angles during the Maneskin performance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on August 28?
Many fans believed that leader Damiano David’s barely there black leather chaps, which revealed his behind, were to blame. While this may have played a role, the band also had another, even cheekier reason.
During the concert, bassist Victoria De Angelis‘ sleeve dropped, revealing her other breast, which she had been hiding under a one-armed blouse. De Angelis, a seasoned rock performer, continued to perform, even making her way into the audience while sporting a newly bared chest.
A fresh edit of the performance that features a lot more of the Italian rockers than the broadcast is now available on MTV’s YouTube channel.
In a press release, the revised footage is described as a “restored” performance and even “uncensored,” yet De Angelis’ wardrobe mishap is still blurred out in the video. Thankfully, the closer-up cut allows us to see how much fun the band was having with their dancers and the audience. “Supermodel” came in at No. 4 on Billboard’s ranking of all 13 VMAs performances.
Blessed to share @maneskinofficial’s #VMAs performance in all its magnificence – the way we couldn’t on TV. MTV posted the footage on Instagram.
The first award during the preshow, best alternative video for “Be My Slave,” marked the beginning of Maneskin’s VMA night and made them the first Italian artists to win a Moon Person as well. Furthermore, the Maneskin will embark on North American tour that will start on Halloween in Seattle and end on December 16 in Las Vegas. Here are some dates.
