Dan Dean’s Essential Bass plugin, containing six precisely sampled basses from Dan’s own collection, is now available from Tracktion Corporation.
Dan Dean is a multi-instrumentalist who has garnered international acclaim as a bassist, producer, composer, and software developer. He has shared the stage with legends like B.B. King, Peggy Lee, Dionne Warwick, and drummer Alex Acuna. His sample libraries, including Solo Strings, are solid favorites of musicians all around the world, having found their way into innumerable productions.
Dean has meticulously analyzed six rare and wonderfully modified bass guitars from his personal collection in the Essential Bass plugin. The Alembic Spoiler, the resonant and growly Alembic Fretless, the balanced Fender Precision, the deep, barky Fender Telecaster, the iconic jazz bass tone of the Mike Lull bass, and the versatile, punchy Washburn Fretless bass guitars are all included in the plugin.
Dean has effectively combined his highly sought-after tone and playing style with his extensive understanding of sample bassed instruments in the plugin. His attention to detail ensures that the basses are precisely balanced, allowing them to easily fit into any production.
The simple and easy UI allows for quick tweaking of attack and release, glide, release noise, and other parameters. An amp simulator, a dedicated FX page, or just loading one of over one hundred presets can be used to add character. Furthermore, performance articulations can be achieved using the mod wheel and other key switches to produce a wide range of slides and harmonics.
The Dan Dean’s Essential Bass plugin costs $99, with a $70 introductory deal valid through July 15. With a free 90-day trial, you can try it before you buy it. Head over to their website to learn more – tracktion.com/products/dan-dean-bass
