Fender American Ultra Series Basses

Fender introduced the Fender Ultra Bass Series this year which will replace the American Elite Series, with some exciting new features and new finishes. Both new models come with the newly designed noiseless pickups and an ergonomically sculpted heel.

They also come with the all-new HiMass bridge and the onboard preamps have been redesigned with a three-band boost/cut EQ and switchable active or passive circuits.

The Precision Bass is not your traditional P Bass since it has an Ultra Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge position making it a PJ setup, which has its unique sound.

The Fender Ultra Jazz Bass has two Ultra Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass pickups in the neck and bridge positions giving you the classic J Bass sound we all know and love with some extra heat.

The preamp in these new Fender Ultra Series Basses allows you to play in either active or passive mode.

As for the hardware, the HiMass bridge is well made. It was designed with stability and sustain in mind, and it is adjusted easily. The most radical changes are in the body contouring and a neck heel that invites some upper-fret adventurism. Not everyone needs it but it’s an easy fix to make and we’re glad Fender made it.

At this price range, many competitors give you a similar experience than these new Fenders but you can never get old of the real fender vibe.

The finish colors for the Precision Bass and the 5 string Ultra Jazz Bass are Arctic Pearl, Mocha Burst, and Ultra Burst. For me personally, the Mocha Burst is the winner, pictured above.

The 4 string Ultra Jazz Bass also comes in Arctic Pearl and Ultra Burst but you have more choices as well. The new colors are Cobra Blue and Texas Tea.

The street prices will be

– American Ultra Precision Bass – $1899.99

– American Ultra Jazz Bass 4 string – $1999.99

– American Ultra Jazz Bass 5 string – $2099.99
