John Mayer’s Sob Rock Tour 2022 will feature legendary bass player Pino Palladino and will take off on Thursday, February 17 in Albany, New York, and will conclude on Thursday, April 28 in Chicago, Illinois. The tour, which is being produced by Live Nation, will make stops in New York City at the new UBS Arena in Belmont Park and Madison Square Garden, as well as two nights at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
John Mayer has announced the lineup for the forthcoming tour in support of his album Sob Rock, which was released in July 2021. Amount the supporting musician are fellow guitarists David Ryan Harris and Isaiah Sharkey, as well as legendary session bassist Pino Palladino.
Following a lengthy stint with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Steve Ferrone will sit behind the drums. Jamie Muhoberac (Jane’s Addiction, Chris Cornell) and Greg Phillinganes (Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder) will be on key duties. The tour will also feature percussionist Lenny Castro (Billy Preston, Taj Mahal). The 10-piece ensemble is completed by Tiffany Palmer (Chakan Khan, Janet Jackson) and Carlos Ricketts (Patti LaBelle, Kool & The Gang).
Sob Rock is the GRAMMY Award-winning performer, guitarist, and producer’s eighth studio album. The album is Mayer’s first solo release since 2017’s The Search for Everything, and it was produced by John Mayer and Don Was. It was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles.
