Stanley Clarke Announce 2023 Tour
Stanley Clarke was the first bassist in a jazz fusion band to tour around the world, and his concerts sold out worldwide. He is renowned for his musicianship, skill, and aggression on the acoustic and electric bass. In appreciation of his work, Clarke received the highly coveted Miles Davis Award at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2011. Furthermore, He was awarded a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2022.
He has received three Grammy Awards: one with the Stanley Clarke Band; one with the iconic fusion band Return to Forever, which he co-founded with Chick Corea and Lenny White; and one as a trio with Corea and White for the 2011 album Forever.
It is great to see that Stanley is back on the road with his new band 4EVER following a two-year sabbatical brought on by the epidemic.
STANLEY CLARKE *N* 4EVER
The musicians in 4EVER provide a dynamic, fresh, and youthful spirit to the music. The 4EVER band consists of Jeremiah Collier on drums, Jahari Stampley on piano and keyboards, Colin Cook on guitar, Emilio Modeste on saxophone, and Stanley on acoustic and electric bass. They are all incredibly accomplished musicians and performers, and they are masters at putting on an enthralling show while constantly pushing the limits of their instruments.
Jeremiah Collier, a drummer, hails from the South Side of Chicago. Collier, who is 22 years old, is a skilled drummer who is well-versed in several musical styles. He blends physical vigor and technique with enthusiasm. Jeremiah had performed with Clarke for several years, including when he was named the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master in the spring of 2022.
Jahari Stampley, a pianist and keyboardist is a native of Chicago. He started playing the piano at 14 and, by age 15, had already won the National Young Arts Competition and the Best High School Jazz Soloist Award. At 18, he was looked forward to by musicians of the highest caliber as a leading new force in jazz. He also started traveling and recording with well-known musicians.
Emilio Modeste, a talented young musician from Williamsburg, Virginia, plays the tenor saxophone. He is one of the best young jazz sax performers in the nation, thanks to his lyrical flair. He has traversed the world and was a part of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra while they were on tour. Clarke sees Modeste as belonging to the Wayne Shorter style of playing. He is a gifted composer as well.
Colin Cook, a talented guitarist from McLean, Virginia, approaches jazz in a novel, exciting, and captivating way. Since graduating from the USC Thorton School of Music, he has gained popularity as a musician and has played in several bands with his scorching guitar playing.
