To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Way Huge, the company released an updated version of their classic overdrive pedal. The Red Llama Overdrive MKIII is a careful replica of the company’s very first pedal in its most compact form ever.
Mr. Huge spent months evaluating modern components to reproduce the sound of the original RLII in order to ensure that all of its unique touch sensitivity and mojo would carry on to the new model.
The Red Llama can bite, with great harmonic overdrive evocative of a vintage tweed amp and a wide range of tones ranging from gentle and cuddly to burly and violent.
However, it also purrs and screams if you smack it hard enough. You may lose a few fingers and toes as a result, but you’ll be pleased you did – The company proclaims.
Highlights of the Red Llama Overdrive MKIII:
- Now in a smaller enclosure, yet with all the sensitivity and charisma of the original.
- Harmonic overdrive that ranges from gentle and fuzzy to beefy and nasty.
The Way Huge Red Llama Overdrive MKIII retails for $149.99 at shops worldwide or directly from Jim Dunlop at www.jimdunlop.com.
