Cort recently unveiled the Elrick NJS series. These basses, which commemorate the 30th anniversary of Elrick Basses, were created in collaboration with Rob Elrick and Cort Guitars. Additionally, the Elrick eVolution Bass was first launched by Cort and Elrick 20 years ago.
Both four and five-string variants are available in the new series. These basses are J-style instruments with contemporary features including 24 frets with a zero fret, a “heel-less” body, and an angled headstock. NJS stands for “New Jazz Standard.”
A pair of Voiced Tone VTB-ST single coil pickups are included on this bass. According to the manufacturer, they provide “contemporary clarity, transparency, and vintage warmth, all while minimizing noise with their hum-canceling.” Furthermore, the pickups are feed through a Barolini Elrick NJS special preamp, which features a three-band EQ, two-way push/pull mid-select, and push/pull active bypass. It also features Hipshot tuners and a MetalCraft M bridge.
