Darkglass has released the X 900, an upgraded version of their Microtubes 900 bass amp, which follows the current trend of powerful yet compact bass amplifiers. The X 900 boasts aggressive overdriven tones and is praised for its unparalleled versatility and control. Drawing inspiration from their popular X Series pedals, this amp incorporates a six-band graphic EQ and an all-analog preamp as valuable additions.
In addition, the limited-edition X 900 features a 900-watt digital power amp and the company’s Microtubes X distortion circuit positioned before the EQ section. This unique setup lets users precisely choose which frequencies to compress and saturate for the low and treble ranges.
Darkglass has also retained its identity under the ownership of Korg, pleasing long-time fans. Marcos Barilatti, the Managing Director of Darkglass, considers the X 900 their best amp, marking a significant milestone for the brand.
For bass players who admire Darkglass’ sound, the X 900 offers an ideal combination of performance and portability. It comes with MIDI functionality for channel switching and impulse response cabinet simulation, with the option to store three different virtual cabinets, an auxiliary input, and a headphone output. Weighing less than 3 kg, the X 900 remains user-friendly in size and weight.
The X 900 is currently available for $1,299 in the U.S. For more details, visit darkglass.com.
