Metallica – Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) – Cliff Burton
Today we are celebrating the life of Cliff Burton with this classic Metallica song – Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth). A couple of days ago was the 34th Anniversary of the tragic death of Cliff. Cliff Burton died while on tour in Sweden in support of their Master of Puppets album. He was only 24 years old.
He first came to prominence as a member of California thrash metal band Trauma. After a gig at the famous Whiskey a Go Go with Trauma he was approached by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich asking him to join Metallica. He officially became a band member in 1982.
He played on the first three albums by Metallica – “Kill ‘Em All”, “Ride the Lightning” and “Master of Puppets”. Furthermore, he co-wrote some of the classic songs from Metallica, like “For Whom the Bells Tolls” and “Fade to Black” to name a few.
