Won’t Come Back, the new single by Rhonda Smith will sure to get you grooving into the weekend. The bass legend, who has shared the stage with legendary artists such Prince and Jeff Beck, delivers a meandering jam about a long-forgotten love.

Her silky fretless leads complement her sensuous vocals, which float over a sparse bassline paired with the smooth grooves of Lil’ John Roberts’ drums. Smith has yet to release a full album, but we’re hopeful there’ll be more where this came from!
Rhonda Smith undoubtedly best known for her 10 year tenure with Prince, a gig she got through her connection with Sheila E. Rhonda met Sheila E. at a music event in Germany and offered her a press kit after learning that Prince was forming a new band.
Prince contacted two months later, and just like that, Smith flew to Paisley Park to record the Emancipation album.
