Recently, Universal Music Group announced the release of EP3, which will include four brand new songs from the legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. These four new songs were recorded in Starr’s Roccabella West studio, alongside longtime colleagues Steve Lukather, Linda Perry, Dave Koz, José Antonio Rodriguez, and Bruce Sugar.

Ringo’s instantly recognizable vocals, feel-good lyrics, and easy-breezy melodies resulted in songs that span pop, country, reggae, and rock & roll spectrums. EP3 will be available digitally and on CD on September 16th, on 10″ vinyl, and as a limited edition transparent royal blue cassette on November 18, 2022.

“Every chance I have, I’m in my studio creating and recording.” It’s something I’ve always done and will continue to do. Releasing EPs on a more regular basis allows me to be more creative and give each song a little more attention.” – Ringo

Ringo’s uplifting message of optimism and brotherhood is carried on with “World Go Round,” composed by Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams. Ringo on vocals, drums, and percussion, Steve Lukather on guitar, Joseph Williams on keyboards, and Joseph Willams, Billy Valentine, Zelma Davis, and Maiya Sykes contribute backing vocals.

“Everyone and Everything,” written by Linda Perry, preserves the iconic Ringo Starr sound. It features Ringo on vocals, drums, and percussion, as well as Linda Perry on guitar and percussion. Damon Fox provides mellotron, piano, and wurly, and Linda Perry, Billy Valentine, Zelma Davis, and Maiya Sykes supply all the background vocals.

The relaxing, rhythmic sound of “Free Your Soul,” written by Ringo Starr and Bruce Sugar, transports the listener to an island beach on a clear warm night under a full moon. The song also features Dave Koz on tenor sax and José Antonio Rodriguez on nylon guitar, Nathan East on bass, Bruce Sugar on keyboards, percussion, and horn arrangement, and Billy Valentine, Zelma Davis, and Maiya Sykes providing backing vocals, in addition to Ringo on vocals, drums, and handclaps.

“Let’s Be Friends” was written by Ringo’s longtime engineer Bruce Sugar and Sam Hollander, and features Ringo Starr on vocals and drums, Nathan East on bass, Steve Lukather on guitar, Bruce Sugar on keyboards, percussion and horn arrangement, handclaps and percussion by Sam Hollander, and Billy Valentine, Zelma Davis, and Maiya Sykes on background vocals.
