Mira is a word in Spanish that means “look, see, and call attention to,” and now Walrus Audio is bringing attention to their newest pedal product, the Mira Optical Compressor.
To begin with the extras, Walrus opted to include a push-button High Pass Filter in the side-chain. This is intended to prevent bass frequencies of 120Hz or below from engaging the compressor as heavily as higher frequencies. The sharp result prevents the compressor from overworking on lower notes, which is perfect for bass guitar or keeping low-frequency dynamics dramatic for guitarists.
The Walrus Audio Mira is a true bypass optical compressor that provides studio-grade sound shaping and sustains with parameters generally found only on studio devices.
Mira also offers advanced control over Attack, Release, Ratio, and a Make-Up slider to help maintain signal unity after compression. To maintain note clarity while increasing sustain, use the Blend knob to mix in your compressed sound with your clean tone.
The Mira is available now at walrusaudio.com and our authorized dealers worldwide for the suggested retail price of $249 USD.
