Daily Positive: Ben Kenney Rocking the Stage Again

So, get this: Ben Kenney, the former bassist of Incubus, just returned to the stage after all the craziness he’s been through. A few years ago, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to have surgery. But it wasn’t an easy ride. He ended up losing hearing in one ear and had some partial facial paralysis. Plus, shortly after the surgery, he lost his dad, who was his biggest supporter. Because of all that, he had to step away from the band, and Nicole Row filled in for him.

Ben took to social media to talk about how he got back to performing. He mentioned that, last year, some friends really helped him get back on his feet. He hadn’t played on stage in a while and honestly, he was nervous about it, especially with the hearing loss. But then, something cool happened. He’d been going to see Micky Dolenz (from The Monkees) perform a lot, and every time, the bassist, John Billings, would encourage him to play with them. Eventually, Ben mustered up the courage to say yes.

And it turned into something amazing! They jammed together on “Come Together” by The Beatles. Ben called it a “surreal moment” for him. A few days later, he was on stage with Micky and his band, playing live for the first time in years. He still can’t believe it, but he’s super grateful to Micky, John, and the whole crew for giving him that huge win when he needed it most.

To top it off, Ben Kenney just dropped his first single since the surgery called “Fire.” He’s also got an album coming soon, called Powerful Buttcheeks, which is going to be released through Ghetto Crush Industries. It’s awesome to see him back in action after everything he’s been through!
