In October 1982, KISS—Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Eric Carr—released Creatures Of The Night after redirecting their efforts to purposefully turn back to the hard rock band they were known for. The album is renowned for its heavier, darker mood in addition to its tougher sound. On almost every subsequent KISS tour, the song “I Love It Loud” has been played, and for many years, “War Machine,” the ballad “I Still Love You,” and the album’s title song have also been prominently featured in their live performances.

75 of the 103 tracks on the ‘Creatures Of The Night 40’ Super Deluxe are previously unheard. The original record, newly remastered on CD 1, sounds better than ever. 34 demos, rarities, and outtakes are included on CDs 2 and 3, including previously unseen gems like “Deadly Weapon (Penny Lane Demo),” “Not For The Innocent (Demo),” and “Betrayed (Outtake).” Harry Witz, the sound engineer for the Creatures Tour, recorded and stored 26 outstanding soundboard live recordings from the Creatures ’82/’83 Tour as well as seven extremely uncommon tour sound effects.

The Blu-Ray Audio disc includes the original album’s 1982 stereo mix in addition to the first-ever Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes from the album’s multi-tracks.

The Super Deluxe box also includes a wide variety of supplementary kollectible KISS artifacts and ephemera, such as:
