Pedal of the Day – BOSS GX-100
BOSS has announced the GX-100, the newest addition to the legendary BOSS family of guitar and bass amp/effect processors. The GX-100 delivers superior sound and ultra-intuitive control with a brilliant color touch panel, fusing advanced BOSS tone innovations into a sleek, ultra-modern hardware design.
Thanks to BOSS’s AIRD technology and updated Tube Logic methodology, the GX-100 delivers outstanding tone and a realistic tube amp feel in every playing setting. Every GX-100 has AIRD built-in, which allows users to manipulate the sound, whether it’s an amp input, FRFR monitor, or house PA. There are also slots for importing WAV speaker IRs via USB, as well as a variety of onboard speaker cabs.
The GX-100 has over 150 high-quality effects from the enormous BOSS library, allowing users to create practically any sound they can imagine. It includes a variety of overdrives and distortions, as well as BOSS’s classics Slow Gear, and Slicer sounds. There’s also a wide range of mod effects, delays, and reverbs, as well as various bass-specific effects.
The GX-100 makes sound creation and on-the-fly editing easier than ever. Patch and effect selection, parameter tweaking, signal chain adjustments, and much more can all be done with ease thanks to the attractive color touch display. The display works in tandem with the panel’s four knobs and page buttons, resulting in a stress-free experience that keeps the creative juices flowing.
The GX-100 can be used as a USB audio interface for recording and performing with a computer, in addition to its stage function. There’s also an onboard looper for jamming, exploring sounds and ideas, and performing, as well as a headphones jack for silent practice.
