Spector Bass has teamed up once again with legendary bassist Doug Wimbish to release the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass. This new model joins the Doug Wimbish Euro series for 2026 and will be available worldwide through authorized Spector dealers and online retailers.

Spector Doug Wimbish Euro 4

This bass is inspired by one of Doug Wimbish’s lesser known personal instruments, his white NS-2 from the late 1980s. Spector aimed to capture the look, feel, and sound of that bass while giving modern players a comfortable, broken in instrument right out of the case.

The Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White features a lightly aged white nitrocellulose finish. It gives the bass the look of a well played vintage instrument without feeling worn out. The body uses maple wings and is paired with Spector’s slim Doug Wimbish neck profile.

The bass has a 34 inch scale length and a narrow 1.5 inch nut width. This makes it fast and comfortable, especially for players who like tight necks and quick movement. The rosewood fingerboard includes mother of pearl crown inlays, staying true to the classic Spector style.

Electronics set this model apart from other Euro series basses. It is loaded with EMG Jazz pickups, which offer clarity, punch, and strong note definition. These pickups work well for aggressive playing, clean fingerstyle, and everything in between.

The pickups are paired with Spector’s Legacy preamp, developed with Darkglass Electronics. This preamp is based on classic two band EQ designs from the 1980s. It delivers a familiar Spector tone with warmth, growl, and strong low end control.

Gold Spector hardware completes the look and matches the aged white finish perfectly. The overall design feels premium while still being rooted in Doug Wimbish’s personal history as a player.

Doug Wimbish describes the bass as a direct connection to his past.

“This bass is a piece of my history. The original 1987 Spector that helped shape my sound, now ready for the next generation.”
